Take me back!
15 February 2019My husband and I visited here for the second time for our first wedding anniversary. We absolutely love everything about this place. The food is absolutely amazing and is generous enough to last you until your next meal. The views are spectacular and you really don’t want to leave! We did all of the hikes and really enjoyed quality time to ourselves. We will definitely be back for the third time.
Blissful and Peaceful
15 February 2019Two words to describe this retreat. Blissful and absolute peace. The surroundings are so beautiful with the rainforest all around you. My husband and I had a lovely time just relaxing. Reading a book, swimming and barbecuing on our time. You lose track of time in this mystical place. The cabins are absolutely beautiful with 5 star luxury fittings. The staff are friendly and assisting and leave you to be. The rainforest walks are a great activity and whatever you do make sure you go and see the glow worms!! It is AMAZING! I would recommend this spot to all couples that want to get away from the rush of the world and reconnect with each other, yourself and nature.
A lovely getaway for our 5th year anniversary
15 February 2019My boyfriend and I (early 20s) stayed for two nights and loved it (he isn’t even an out-doors person). The staff on site were very polite and friendly in the way you could tell they cared about you enjoying yourself.
We stayed in the bungalow Quandong (one of the cheaper cabins), which we found to be very private and relaxing. We had no complaints of the cabin, the furniture was beautiful with most of it being carved wood. We did come across the odd spider and some ants in the cabin which is a given staying the the forest however, if would not be anything more than I would come across at home and they supply fly spray / Aeroguard.
The spa was very nice and the TV/DVD was all up to date and working as it should. When we arrived they told us about the games room which has about 1000 bluray/DVDs we could grab at our leisure to bring back to our room (games room was open 24-7 – unmonitored). Games room also had table tennis, board games, pool, computer, tea etc. This added a nice touch to our stay as we did watch a few movies at night and played table tennis when we went to grab movies.
I unfortunately had a migraine one morning of our stay and when my boyfriend went to ask whether they had any panadol they gave him a whole box free of charge which was very appreciated.
The meals were expensive but you do get your moneys worth (they do not let you go hungry). We ended up taking some of the food home with us as we couldn’t eat it all. I was a but unsure about the re-heating in the microwave situation but the food tasted good; it was as if you were eating it straight out of the oven/pan.
Given the limited amount of cabins in the retreat it was rare for us to see other people; we had the orchard and rainforest walk to ourselves. We did not see any of the staff other than when we approached the reception area so they do respect your privacy.
If you are looking for an escape from the city this is a perfect spot to go being surrounded by mountains and staying in a glass cabin with a rainforest view. The area feels safe and relaxing. I would recommend this place for a 2-3 night stay; enough to explore the rainforest, have a picnic, unwind and see the glow worms. Overall the retreat exceeded expectations.
It is expensive to stay here but for special occasions I do think it is worth the stay – I hope to return in future.
Great to ... get engaged!
28 January 2019Beautiful private location set amongst rainforest – refreshing rock pools and spacious relaxing atmosphere – great to unwind, relax listen to nature and get engaged!
They made my wedding week perfect!!
15 January 2019I was at the Retreat for a week for my wedding from Jan. 5–12, 2019. I simply can’t say enough wonderful things about Crystal Creek! I am a very picky person when it comes to places to stay since I travel frequently, and this is one of my favourites. 1) the scenery is magnificent, 2) the bungalows are gorgeous, glass on all sides, spectacular views, extremely romantic, modern and clean, 3) it is all very private and secluded, 4) there are wonderful trails to hike, 5) all the food we ordered was excellent, and 6) the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating! We’ve already decided that we will go back on our five year anniversary!!!
So peaceful
6 January 2019Genuinely one of the most spectacular places we’ve ever stayed. We had the Kamala bungalow and the views from the balcony were simply stunning. The rainforest walks are brilliant and the swimming holes are a delight. Best of all, it’s so peaceful and you feel like you’re completely isolated from the world (in a good way).
Janelle and the team at CCRR are amazing. The bungalow itself was brilliant – the views from the bath are spectacular!

4 January 2019Amazing!!! Enjoyed ourselves there 20 years ago & didn’t think it was possible to be even better, but it was!! Such a tranquil, energising getaway! Nature at its best with the luxury of 5 star accommodation that blended so well ❤️
Can't wait to come back
17 December 2018The most relaxing, luxurious and beautiful week we have had in 11 years. We can’t wait to come back 💚🌳💚
Relaxing, romantic and serene
15 December 2018We stayed at Crystal Creek for 3 nights on our honeymoon in the [Luxury] Mountain View Lodge. We loved this place so much, it was the most perfect relaxation break. The lodge has floor to ceiling windows facing the mountains, creating the most beautiful setting. It’s perfect for a romantic break, with a fireplace and hot jacuzzi and an outdoor plunge pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even picking us up from our car, as it rained heavily, so our sedan was unable to cross the river roads. We did a rainforest walk on one of the days, which allowed us to see the beautiful nature walks. We will definitely return to this place, it is the ultimate relaxation destination, in the most beautiful rainforest I’ve seen.
Just a beautiful experience
8 December 2018What a magical experience! We stayed in the Luxury Rainforest Retreat Cedar Lodge and it certainly lived up to expectations. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much effort and the facilities are second to none. We had a private plunge pool which was slightly heated, perfect for this time of year. I can’t recommend Crystal Creek more highly, just a beautiful experience and we can’t wait to go back!
Cosy atmosphere · Private bathrooms · Spacious rooms
Lots of wildlife
6 December 2018We stayed at the Cedar Lodge for 3 nights for a mini-moon.
Best place we have ever stayed in, great views of the rainforest while relaxing within the heated pool, lots of wildlife and we were lucky enough to experience 100s of red eyed green tree frogs in and around the pool on the last night after heavy rainfall.
Would definitely recommend the Cedar Lodge.
Cosy atmosphere · Spacious rooms
A diamond in the forest
15 November 2018We stayed in the luxury rainforest lodge. When you arrive at the property, the drive up to reception is quite long, you drive past all of the cabins on your way to reception. When you arrive at the end of the driveway, park on your left and the reception building is opposite the undercover parking (I mention this as signage isn’t billboard like). That said, limited signage is ok, as you are in a rainforest not on a strip in vegas. The reception area may be unattended, but you just need to press the button to have someone come to you. The games room in the main lobby is a great idea, and it has a coffee machine as well. The cabin was a home away from home, masterful architecture and spotless on the inside. Just check out my photos – simply incredible. You order your food when you book, and it is a homely meal. Very tasty and hits the spot so you can sit back, relax and enjoy everything about the cabin and rainforest. When you go for a walk around the rainforest, do go to reception first and spray yourself with insect repellent. It can get quite humid on the walk, but take a dip in the creek to cool off (take a towel). This is one of the best places I have ever stayed at.
Amazing Couples Getaway
22 October 2018If you are looking for an amazing getaway, Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat is simply the best. Great place to relax & reconnect. We both just loved our entire stay. Meal baskets are very nice and easy to prepare at your own time. Private and secluded Villas that look out through wall to ceiling glass. Private infinity swimming pool, and outdoor deck. BBQ for cooking outdoors. Internet and phone reception can be limited, which I think was an advantage to hang out and focus on each other.
A true piece of heaven
14 October 2018I have been fortunate enough to stay in some really very lovely hotels, but Crystal Creek has just taken the top spot for best place I have ever stayed!
We had a Mountain View villa with private pool, Tamborine Lodge. The pictures do not do it justice. It has been extremely well thought through and has been finished to an exemplary standard.
Sadly the weather was awful during our stay, being unseasonably cold and heavy rain, so we didn’t even venture out of our oasis of luxury! We bought supplies from the local town (about 25min drive away), watched a film on the HUGE TV, borrowing from massive DVD library, and snuggled up with a log fire. This place is expensive, yes, but oh so very, very worth it. I would not hesitate to recommend it. It truly is heaven on earth!
